The visiting team from the University of Pittsburgh expressed that their Asian Studies Center is one of the research centers in the United States with the highest research funding on related topics. They have been actively promoting more research and teaching related to Taiwan, aiming to enhance American students' understanding of Taiwan. Therefore, they are seeking more collaboration opportunities with relevant researchers at Academia Sinica. During the meeting, they introduced the university and the center's websites that provide information on Taiwan research, including "Centering Taiwan in Global Asia - A K-14 Curriculum Resource About Taiwan" (https://centeringtaiwan.pitt.edu/) and "World-Historical Gazetteer - A project of the World History Center at the University of Pittsburgh" (http://blog.whgazetteer.org/).
Our attending faculty members all expressed interest in the proposals from the University of Pittsburgh's Asian Studies Center and identified potential areas and topics for collaboration. They suggested two sides should maintain contact with each other in the future.
