A delegation from Trier University, Germany, led by President Prof. Martha Eckkrammer, visited Academia Sinica on March 31. An academic exchange and reception event was held at the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy. The event was jointly hosted by the Department of International Affairs, senior administrative officials, and the Director and colleagues from the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy.
The delegation consisted mainly of professors from the division of humanities, many of whom have previously engaged in academic collaborations with our Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy, the Institute of History and Philology, the Digital Culture Center, and the Institutum Iurisprudentiae. The delegation expressed great interest in Academia Sinica TIGP-X introduced by Dr. Tzu-Ching Meng, Director, Department of International Affairs and the staff exchange mechanism in Humanity Division introduced by Dr. Miaw-fen Lu, Deputy Executive Secretary, Central Academic Advisory Council.
Given Germany's strong emphasis on green energy issues, the delegation was particularly eager to learn about Taiwan’s research in this field. To facilitate this, we specially invited Vice Director Charles C. -K. Chou from the Research Center of Environmental Changes (RCEC) to brief the latest developments and achievements in green energy and environmental change research in RCEC.
