President Jayathi Murthy of Oregon State University led a delegation to Academia Sinica on March 5, 2026, and was received by President James C. Liao. The meeting focused on four areas of shared interest: artificial intelligence and robotics, semiconductor research, AI-enabled resilient food systems, and research on earthquakes and volcanology. Representatives of the two institutions exchanged information on their respective research capacity, current priorities, and possible directions for further engagement. By identifying complementary strengths across science, engineering, agriculture, and earth sciences, the visit established a foundation for future interdisciplinary research cooperation and talent exchange.
