A delegation from the National University of Science and Technology, Oman, led by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ali Al Bimani, visited Taiwan from June 14 to 19, 2026, and was received at Academia Sinica by President James C. Liao. During the visit, the two institutions formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding and exchanged views on future cooperation, including joint research, academic visits, and talent development. The delegation also visited Academia Sinica’s Genomics Research Center, Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, and Research Center for Biodiversity, where it engaged in academic exchanges with researchers. In addition to its program at Academia Sinica, the delegation visited other Taiwanese universities and research institutions with assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gaining a broader understanding of Taiwan’s higher education and research environment and expanding the academic cooperation network between Taiwan and Oman.
